The Trainee Investigator Internship provides practical exposure to the work of the Office of the Ombudsman, which promotes transparency, fairness, and integrity in municipal governance. Interns will gain hands-on experience in handling public complaints, supporting investigations, conducting research, and engaging with stakeholders. This opportunity is designed to equip law graduates or final-year students with skills in municipal oversight, ethical governance, and administrative justice.

Responsibilities

• Assist with complaint intake and initial assessments from the public
• Provide investigative support in cases of municipal maladministration or service delivery concerns
• Conduct research and legal analysis to support case findings
• Draft and prepare documentation, reports, and case summaries
• Participate in stakeholder engagement and assist with outreach activities
• Support awareness campaigns to educate the public about the Ombudsman’s role

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Law
• Final year Law Student
